Suppliers

On this page you'll find a list of the suppliers that I personally use to buy my polishes, and an indication of the brands I've bought from them, or have noted that they sell.  Please note that these brand lists are not an exhaustive list of all the brands sold by each supplier.

I'm based in the UK, so this is predominantly a list of UK suppliers.  As you probably know, the postal situation in the UK with the recent changes to Royal Mail's policy on handling polishes is a real pain.  Customs duty on imported products, combined with the postage costs of having polish sent from the US/outside the EU is something that I find personally prohibitively expensive.  So while I know there are a great many amazing US based stores, you won't find these listed here as I don't use them.

If there is a store that you'd recommend, particularly for difficult to find brands then please get in touch! I'm always on the look-out for supplier recommendations.

On the High Street

(roughly in order of how often I've used them)

T K Maxx - I've bought OPI, Leighton Denny, Nails Inc, Essie, Color Club, Orly, Deborah Lippmann from TKMaxx.  I've also noted that they sell Butter London, Barielle, Nicole by OPI, Revlon and Ciate.  The awesome thing about TK Maxx is that the polishes they sell are typically way cheaper than RRP.  Each TK Maxx I visit locally also usually have very different stock, so it's worth hunting out all your local stores!

Sally UK - I've bought OPI, China Glaze, Morgan Taylor, Seche, Gelous and Nina from Sally.  This is also where I get my acetone for clean-up.  Sally often have good offers on their polish, 3 for 2 normally.  Also a good source of bargain gift-sets post Christmas.  I've also noted they have a lot of nail art supplies tools and gel nail related items.

Boots - I've bought Barry M, Revlon, Essie, No 7, Max Factor, Models Own, Rimmel, Miss Sporty, and Sally Hansen from here.  I've also noted that they sell Sinful Colors.  A bonus is that you can save up Boots loyalty points and spend them on polish :) Also, Boots often have 3 for 2 offers on beauty and regular No7 voucher offers (typically £3 off makeup).  If your local Boots is too small to stock all the brands you like you can shop online and get free store delivery for orders over £20 or for £1.95 for orders under £20.

Superdrug - Stocks much the same as Boots (see above).  I've noted they also sell MUA (make up academy), 2True, Nicole by OPI, NYC, GOSH and Accessorize polishes.  Often they have different offers on to Boots, so it can be worth comparing the two when you're looking for something in particular.

John Lewis - I've bought Chanel, Jessica, OPI, Leighton Denny and Nails Inc from John Lewis.  I've also noted that they sell Mavala and a lot of nice nail/hand treatments (I got my Burts Bees cuticle butter here).

Debenhams - the only store (apart from Illamasqua's own) to sell Illamasqua polish, although only at their larger stores.

House of Fraser - I've bought Chanel from HOF, and I also noted that they are the only highstreet store (except TK Maxx) I've found that stocks Deborah Lippmann.

Poundland - I've bought Revlon and Loreal from here, and I've noted that they sell Sally Hansen.  This is also a good place to find bargain nail art supplies - I've bought stamping and caviar kits from here.  I've also seen a lot of studs/stick-on embellishments sold here.

Online

Amazon - Is there anything that Amazon don't sell?  You can get a ton of the mainstream high-street brands on here, I've personally bough discount China Glaze (through Radiant-Babe, see below) and Layla from Amazon.  I note they also sell a lot of nail/hand treatments and nail art supplies (I got my dotting tool set from here for £2!).

Radiant-Babe - Radiant-Babe has an Amazon Store and a dedicated website.  For some reason the pricing and postage costs are very different between these - the Amazon store is cheaper.  I've bought China Glaze polish from here (through the Amazon store it's typically £1 cheaper per polish, with free postage if you buy three - effectively that makes it a permanent 3 for 2 offer).  I note that Radiant Babe sells a lot of nail art supplies (including Konad stamping supplies) as well as OPI, Orly, and Barry M.

Sally Magpies - I've bought Ozotic, PiCture pOlish, and Hits Speciallita from here, and I note Sally also sells Catrice, Cirque, Color Club, Emily De Molly, essence, Impala, Jade, Layla, Lilypad Lacquers, Mentality, Pretty Serious and Quirk.

Rainbow Connection - Indie polish heaven.  I've bought Crowstoes, Liquid Sky Lacquer, Ethereal Lacquer, Fanchromatic Nails, Smitten Polish and Girly Bits from here.  I've noted they sell Dollish Polish, Lush Lacquer, Polished by KPT, Lacquer Lust, Polish Addict, Black Cat Lacquer, Glisten & Glow, Jindie Nails, Cadillacquer, Pahlish, Contrary Polish, Glam Polish and more.

A-England - Obviously, this is where I buy my A-England polishes.  I'm a big fan of the brand, and of their monthly 'gem of the month' offer where one polish is selected for sale at £6 instead of the usual £9.  They also offer free postage which is a big bonus.

Nail Polish Direct - an incredible source of discount nail polish, this is the cheapest I've found OPI (Nail Envy for £12.95 instead of £18.95, and polishes for £6.95 instead of £11.50!).  I've bought OPI and Leighton Denny form NPD but note that they also sell Essie, Jessica and Zoya amongst others.  Well worth a look and free delivery for orders over £10.

QVC - I've bought OPI, Leighton Denny and Nails Inc from QVC.  The benefit of QVC is that they mainly stock 'gift sets' that let you get multiple polishes at a reduced rate from the RRP per polish.  The downside is sometime this means you get extra shades you might not otherwise have bought.  A good source of a bargain though.

Born Pretty - ridiculously cheap nail art supplies from Hong Kong - I've bought stamping plates, striping tape, water decals and nail art brushes from here and all for pennies.  The postage is free (say what!) but the downside is it take weeks to arrive.  Typically 3-4 from what I've experienced/heard.  You can also always find a 10% off discount code with a quick google search - many bloggers have discount codes posted on their pages (which earns the blogger loyalty points to spend).  So use one of these codes and you're also helping a fellow enthusiast.

Ebay - Can be a good place to find nearly new or discontinued shades with all the risks that entails.  I got some discontinued OPI shades at knockdown prices from here, but I'd add the warning that with used polishes you never know how the polishes have been stored so take care to read the description and check the pictures carefully.

Nail Care Club - The official UK stockist of Zoya

The Nail & Beauty Link - this is a great site to grab a bargain, like Nail Polish Direct they stock discount polishes from the big brands including Zoya, OPI, China Glaze, Essie, Orly and Color Club amongst others.

Lena White - Official OPI distributer.  I bought a lot from here until I discovered Nail Polish Direct
